Program Information
Our philosophy: "Children learn through play, and play is their work."
All programs are 2 1/2 hour sessions consisting of "free play" and structured lessons
with weekly themes.
After signing in, the children enjoy "free play" at a variety of play stations; then they move to "circle time" where there is name recognition, weather, calendar, songs, finger plays, and physical education activities.
Structured lessons expose the children to many types of arts and crafts, nutrition, science projects, language development, and listening and speaking skills. In addition, reading readiness, mathematics, and name writing are practice regularly.
Weekly themes include self and family, career awareness, holidays, circus, clothing, communication, community helpers, health, gardening, musical instruments, farm animals, Native Americans, senses, pets, shapes, transportation, etc.
Some of these themed weeks will include field trips to an apple orchard, maple sugar house, dairy farm, fire station, library, grocery store, animal clinic, greenhouse, etc.;
OR community workers will visit the Nursery School including: firefighters, police officers, paramedics, doctors,
nurses, musicians, etc.
