COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is an introduction to technology and the personal computer. Students will get a hands-on, working knowledge of computer hardware and its terminology. They will also gain experience with several software applications that may lead to increased effectiveness in the classroom. Personal Information Management software, groupware, the WebBoard, e-mail, the Internet, web pages and their use within the educational environment will be examined.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the course, the student should:

 

 

ASSIGNMENTS AND GRADING:

Prior to each class students will have assigned readings from the text, online sources, and/or handouts. In-class projects and written assignments will be added to each student's on-line portfolio as completed.

 

The student's grade will be based on class participation, in addition to the completion and quality of their on-line portfolio.
