COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to introduce CIS majors to topics and concepts that are current and relevant to careers in Information Systems and prepare them for more advanced CIS courses.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the course, the student should:

1: have a solid understanding of how computers work.

2. be able to design and construct a web page, spreadsheet, database and PowerPoint presentation.

2: understand the applications, concepts and challenges of implementing Information Systems within a business environment.

3: have gained a good foundation and understanding of Information Systems that will prepare them for more advanced courses.

 

ASSIGNMENTS:

Assignments can be accessed via this online syllabus and will consist of readings, written assignments, quizzes and projects. PLEASE TYPE ALL PAPERS !

Students are expected to attend all class sessions and to be prepared to discuss the assigned readings and written homework If a student must miss a class session, it is the student’s responsibility to arrange other ways of obtaining the information covered in class. Please notify the instructor in advance if you have to miss a class. Students with excessive absences may not receive a passing grade.
